Santa Clarita, Calif. -- TMU baseball player Jonah Jarrard has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and been assigned to the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League, a rookie affiliate of the major league team.

Jarrard enjoyed two solid seasons with the Mustangs, including a sparkling 2017 campaign during which he hit .406 and broke the single-season record with 86 hits.  He clubbed 13 home runs, had 52 rbi, and posted a 1.205 OPS (.717 slugging percentage and a .488 on-base percentage).

Commenting on Jarrard's signing, Mustang head coach Monte Brooks said, "Jonah had a fabulous year with us.  He was very influential in guiding our pitching staff as well as solidifying the middle of the lineup.  He was our catalyst, a model of consistency throughout the year."
